After all, it was then that the first folding knife with such an original name was invented.By the way, Opinel is the name of the founder of the company. And even now these knives carry it with pride, so having such a knife, you can touch the family heirlooms from France. How Opinel differs from analogues Opinel produces a lot of interesting products, such as cutlery and garden tools. But of course knives are especially popular. The whole secret of Opinel lies in their design and the use of special materials. This became the rule of the manufacturer, which is unshakable to this day. For example, the fact that only natural wood is used in knives for the handle. For this, especially expensive breeds are selected, such as boxwood or bubing. For the blade, the manufacturer chose two materials - Sandvik 12C27 stainless steel and high carbon steel. In the first case, a special mark “inox” can be seen on the blade, and in the second - “carbone”. The steel is high strength and can last almost forever. As for the blade shape of Opinel knives, it depends primarily on the purpose. Knives with a wide range of applications usually have a fairly wide range of

The best thing I've ever used, a great item for everyone!

Has pros: Light, sharp, with a corkscrew. For a tourist what you need. And open the wine and cut sausages with cheese Different cons: The castle takes some getting used to. The handle does not like to get wet - it swells and does not allow to unfold / fold normally. You just need to wipe it off and do not leave it in water

I did not regret the purchase, everything is fine.

Pros: Opinel knife. Well-known French company with a long history. It lies comfortably in the hand, the corkscrew opens clearly with fixation. The blade is sharpened sharp. Knife weight. Cons: Blade play. The handle is treated from water is not satisfactory.

I really like the product, it fully meets my expectations.

This is not the first knife of this brand for me, because if you hold Opinel in your hands at least once, then this is love for life, very cool knives, you can say with soul. And natural wood gives a special feeling, buzz) From the box, this knife is very sharp, has a unique lock that I have not seen on other knives and, most importantly, a corkscrew, now with this knife our romantic picnics with my wife are going with a bang, and the cheese was cut and wine opened without problems))

Pros
  • Timeless classic natural materials

I took it in a "business trip" set: open a bottle, cut a snack, and found an excellent sharp knife, which I sometimes use in the kitchen. Immediately impregnated with linseed oil (40 minutes in a water bath and dry for a day), there are no problems with swelling of the handle. A friend has been using the same one for 8 years, but without a corkscrew, the knife is still in service, still cutting sausage, cheese, etc., although it has not been sharpened and has never been corrected. So it also…

Pros
  • Sharp, the size of the blade - that's it, the corkscrew dramatically expands the scope. The beech wood handle is aesthetically pleasing and feels great in the hand. Separately, it's nice that the manufacturer has a history, and not "made in China"
Cons
  • The handle requires impregnation, original covers are more expensive than a knife.

The product is worse than ever, disappointed with the purchase.

And a month has not passed since my knife on which the inscription inox flaunts began to rust, and the most ironic thing is that the inscription began to rust first. In addition to sausage, bread, vegetables and cheese, the knife did not see anything, it was always washed and wiped dry after use! Here is such a rusty, stainless steel!

Pros
  • At first I was pleased with the purchase, except for a couple of Kotsak on the blade.
Cons
  • The blade needs to be fixed

Just super, it's beautifully made, I'm very happy with it.

Gave to a friend, he really liked it. I did not think that the corkscrew is so securely held in the knife. I know this brand, I myself have more than one knife, I had no doubts about the quality initially. Steel pleases, stays sharp for a long time.

Pros
  • Steel quality, wood
Cons
  • No

No complaints, I recommend to buy.

I already had a #10 corcscrew and the previous knife had a perfect sharpening from the factory. I guess the quality varies from batch to batch. the knife will have to be sharpened immediately after purchase.

Pros
  • beech handle shape, strong corkscrew, blade convergence.
Cons
  • sharpening quality from the factory, the blade point is not sharpened (it shines in the photo), the cutting edge at the handle is crumbled
