The nutcracker sucks! waste of money!

Got this set for a lobster birthday in Maine. Seemed like a good deal with a nutcracker and 4 pickaxes. Nutcrackers are bad. They were bent trying to break the lobster's claws. The hinges are slightly bent. Lockpicks are cheap too, but they work. Luckily I had 10" ChannelLocks. it's HUM!

Attention buyers! Cheaply Made

I ordered this set just to crack mixed nuts to eat. The crackers are very poorly made. The "grooves" that help hold the nut were rounded and very shallow, which failed to hold the nut in place, causing it to break. The ones in the set were ok. I ended up finding the same nutcracker in a big store for half the price and it's 100% better. I would not recommend buying this product.

Suitable for nuts in special tools and equipment

Growing up in Connecticut we had metal nutcrackers and nutcrackers that looked just like this. During the holidays we always had a plate with different nuts on the table. It was a nice way to sit and chat while cracking nuts one by one. Everyone had their favorite type of nut, so there was always something for everyone. It was a surprise to discover that they were shellfish tools. Whether it's nuts or shellfish, this set is very similar to what I remember. Works perfectly. Meets my needs.

Arrived broken with special tools and jigs

One of the picks was broken when it arrived. Should be done cheaply. Well, if three out of four works, that's better than nothing in my opinion. After all, they were cheap, but you still don't expect them to break before you use them.

Pros
  • good thing
Cons
  • some trouble

Cheap imitations for kitchen utensils and gadgets

Here, as with all cheap nutcrackers, you get less than what you pay for. I have an original HMQ nutcracker that I have had for 40 years. It's durable, holds nuts securely, and works every time. These fakes are much lighter and not strong, the nuts will slip out and take several tries to crack.

Pros
  • Many will do
Cons
  • Very expensive

Works perfectly looks just as cheap as what you pay for

It works and I'm glad I finally got it. What bothers me more is the poor quality. The cracker itself feels light and can break under too much pressure. However, it worked fine. It looks as cheap as what you pay for it but picks have certainly become multifunctional tools around my house lol.

Pros
  • hands free
Cons
  • I'll text back
