Not for nailing 1-1/2 " Styrofoam to plywood

The nails are quite flimsy. The crew attempted to use them to nail 1-1/2" foam to plywood, and the nails bowed. I went over and found that they drill larger holes in plastic covers and use screws. We ended up using 3" roofing nails.

Pros
  • Industrial & Scientific
Cons
  • Appearance

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Needs to be driven in carefully

I used these nails (100/box) to attach a 2" sheet of foam to the studs and rafters in the attic. These ring shank nails worked well, but as other reviewers have noted, these 3 inch thin nails flex easily. Don't be careless with a hammer. Hitting the hammer off center will warp the nail. I ended up choking on my hammer trying to hammer those nails.

Pros
  • Tape Fasteners
Cons
  • Frequency

I used these nails (100/box) to attach a 2" sheet of foam to the studs and rafters in the attic. These ring shank nails worked well, but as other reviewers have pointed out, these thin 3 inch long nails bend easily. Don't be careless with a hammer. Hitting the hammer off center will warp the nail. I ended up choking on my hammer trying to hammer those nails.
