Total wax weight less than advertised

This was my second order of soy wax. The quality seems comparable and I've made some great candles with this wax. However, I'm deducting two stars because when I received this last bag, it felt lighter. So, out of curiosity, I put it on a kitchen scale. Total weight didn't reach 5 pounds and was only 4 1/2. I am disappointed as I expect to get £5 I will grow if I order £5. I may order from another company for my next waxing need as I'm not that tough anymore.

Pros
  • Ideal for hobbyists
Cons
  • Expensive

I love this wax!

I have bought this wax several times and finally decided to check it out! I started making candles a few months ago and as a beginner I've ordered a bunch of stuff from Revain without really knowing what I'm doing. Almost everything I originally bought was a bust and I've since learned that candle suppliers are the way to go BUT I was very impressed with this wax! Everything about it is perfect and I'm always happy with the results I get from it. I will definitely keep buying!

I use this for tie-dying with my students. We melt the wax on the burner plates set to minimum and the students apply the wax like paint. It melts at a lower temperature than the tie-dye wax you buy in the store and is easier to apply as it stays liquid at lower melt temperatures and is slightly safer for you. There is still a nice craquelé effect. The only problem I had was that after a few coats the soda in the paint started to eat away at the wax so we ended up with 4 values. Here are some…

Makes great soy wax candles with a learning curve!

I am new to candle making and my first try failed. When I first used this wax, my candles were dull and cracked. They also had funnels and had some glass adhesion issues. The second time has improved a lot! My candle tips are smooth as glass and hold up well. I noticed that pouring at a lower temperature resulted in smoother candle tips, and preheating my jars ensured perfect adhesion to the glass. it was good and the cold cast was excellent. They burned very well and evenly (no tunneling) and…
