Fits 2001 Ford Ranger

Fits my 2001 Ford Ranger 2.3L engine. Like the original, the head has a diameter of 15 mm. The rubber seal is different but seems to work well. No leaks.

Pros
  • practical item
Cons
  • There are new competitors

Superb oil drain plug

Superb oil drain plug, I highly recommend it, I installed it on my 2007 GMC Yukon, my old plug was original and worn, it leaked a little. NO MORE LEAKS πŸ‘

Pros
  • Beautiful packaging
Cons
  • Protection

Good replacement best in engines and engine parts

When changing the oil the female came loose at the plug, I always replace the plug when the female weakens - the plug does not leak. The girl fits the new cork well, so I'm happy.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Not bad

The seal did not match the plug.

I used to buy two of these and they fit together perfectly. The gasket is not seated on this block. I bought another sealant and still had the same problem. I wanted to contact the seller but couldn't find a way to do so.

Pros
  • Perfect fit for me
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

It's a drain plug, not rocket surgery.

This is a fairly simple part so not much to see. Fits like an OEM part. I'm not sure how many people have trouble changing the oil drain plug, but if you can't change the oil yourself, don't try it yourself.

Pros
  • Easy to read panel
Cons
  • Difficult to see

This is the oil plug on the oil drain plugs

Replaced correctly and my only concern is that it didn't have a little magnet on the end to catch the metal as well. No problem as the old one never had files when changing the oil. I'm old fashioned and change the oil and filter at just over 3000 miles. With a 174K engine, the oil is always clean enough when changing.

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Fits my engine and fits perfectly

I've already used two of these on my 2004 Lincoln LS V6 and so far I haven't had any oil leaks. However, I don't know how this plug works with multiple oil changes since I change the drain plug with every oil change. For those who plan to use this drain plug for multiple oil changes, simply apply some oil to the rubber seal. and you should be fine.

Pros
  • good stuff
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

Poorly finished, rough threads, poor sealing

The threads on this one were so rough and poorly finished that I had to file them with a triangular file before I could even insert them into the die to smooth them out You would cut into the oil pan. The gasket also doesn't fit in the groove cut into the back of the head. I removed the supplied gasket and installed the gasket from the stock oil plug and it fit better but still didn't sit flat in the groove. I would not recommend this product unless you are tech savvy and have an alternative.

Pros
  • Some competitors
Cons
  • unreliable
