Decent budget torque wrench

Easy to use and accurate for the home mechanic. More accurate than a calibrated faucet. Unless you're paying big bucks for quality tools, and calibrating them constantly (like a pro should), then it's just a peace of mind tool. Most people attract until it either stops (subjective) or breaks (bad). So if you're looking for a budget tool that gives you peace of mind that you think it's more accurate than your elbow, then this is a decent tool for the job. .

Fits wrenches

I bought this tool because I needed a small torque wrench when assembling a KTM 250 EXC RFS motorcycle engine. I was interested in NM settings, not inch-pounds. The only problem in setting the right torque value and fixing it was to distinguish the divisions of the scale. The scale is simply pressed into the metal and is not reinforced with any contrasting dark paint or glue, so it can be difficult for elderly people like me to read. The mechanical torque adjustment felt smooth and positive…

Worked great (during the day)

I bought this to tighten the transmission pan bolts in tight spaces. It worked amazingly well the first time, tightening all 14 bolts to 150 in-lbs. Unfortunately, the sump had a slight kink and continued to leak, requiring the process to be repeated the next day. On the second pass, the first two screws tightened perfectly, then the key began to slip. As if the teeth of the ratchet were worn out. I ended up having to go to a local store to buy another key to complete the job. I was hooked by…

Actually much better than expected

I run a training program for technicians who repair large quantities of outdoor electrical equipment. It was the "prize" for the student with the highest score on the weekly test. I've compared it to photo with my own 1/4" wrench and it compares pretty well. Accuracy was on par with the proto setting a little rough compared to the proto but nothing too difficult to read due to the depth of the markings and the sheen of the chrome a bit difficult. It takes a turn or two to see in some lighting…

Decent Tool - Torque Wrench

GENERAL: I'm a fan of (most) car maintenance and was looking for a pair of torque wrenches to add to my toolbox. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on these wrenches since they're only used a couple of times a year, but I also didn't want to risk an overly cheap tool that might not click when needed and cause expensive damage. I chose the Neiko Pro keys because of their relatively low cost, the style of the lock/unlock mechanism, and the fact that they're factory tested (at least they have a
