It totally works! - Step Drill

This inexpensive step drill masterfully drilled a small hole in my Guild 12 string. Super clean. Cover the hole with painter's tape and simply drill through with a drill. No chips, no jagged edges, just a perfect, smooth 1/2" hole. Will you pierce the guitar to install the electrics? Get it, it's so much easier.

Pros
  • Multiple sizes with one drill
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Excellent metalworking step drill and multi-purpose drill

This is a great product for drilling large diameter holes. I received 3 step drill bits and a small carry case. The largest hole size it can make is 3/4 inch. Buying a drill this size would be expensive. Purchasing drill bits that cover all the sizes listed here would be very expensive. I used it to drill a 1/16" hole. inch steel plate. It worked great.

Pros
  • Automatically deburrs while drilling
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

One thing you appreciate about it is its accessibility. Have you ever tried drilling through the underside of the frame of a car that is lying on its back under the car on car ramps with a drill bit with a 1/2" bit? It's almost impossible to drill the bit with it because of its length It's difficult to position vertically with a…
