Didn't work for me

I wanted this to control the volume on my Denon receiver which is behind my TV. Unfortunately, the IR receiver on the Neoteck just isn't sensitive enough to detect a press on my Tivo remote unless it's less than a meter away. ) from more than 15 feet away when I momentarily move the TV so I have a direct line of sight to the receiver. It worked across the room when I used a different remote, but the Tivo is my most used device, so it didn't meet my needs.

updated It worked for 5 months and they replaced it.

After I posted my 2 star review, Julie at Neoteck contacted me to send a replacement. The replacement arrived a few days later and works perfectly. I set it up so the LED is facing forward instead of up, my range is over 15ft although it has a narrow range of angles it's great for the money. Thank you Julie for sending a replacement. Old rating. This worked for 5 months and now only works for a minute when I unplug and plug it back in. Although the product comes with a 12 month warranty, Iโ€ฆ

Works as intended and cleans up my setup

After 30 days Item works well and controls three components hidden in a cabinet which cleans up the look in my living room. That's good considering I also need to install a 25ft extension cord to bridge the gap between mounting my TV and storing the components. My setup is powered from a USB port on the TV, which just means I have to turn on the TV first for the IR repeater to get power. The only downside I noticed is that the IR receiver doesn't pick up the IR signal emitted by my remotes very

First impression: it works with my Yamaha.

I bought this to plug directly into the remote jack on my Yamaha stereo. I don't use transmitter diodes, instead I bought a 25 foot 1/8 inch male to male mono cable and plugged the extension directly into the Yamaha. Success! The system works very well. It works with mono connections, which means external IR receivers need to be externally powered. I will update this review if it doesn't work. Haven't tested it yet: range and angular sensitivity. Will let you know when I run the cables from the

Great product for the price

I am SUPER impressed with this receiver. I actually thought it probably wouldn't work very well, but it was actually easy to set up. We have a TV outside and in the metal workshop. I wanted to keep the components inside and just show a TV outside. I took the receiver outside and connected the speakers to the Yamaha receiver and DirecTV HR24. It didn't even require fiddling - both worked without fuss and are small so they don't block direct controls either. The red receiver has a good angle andโ€ฆ

Great for concealed installation

We have a wall mount in the corner and wanted to put the audio equipment behind the TV in an unused space behind that wall. This was the PERFECT solution for managing remote functions. We didn't install a single IR receiver on the TV that would allow us to control the AV receiver, Roku, Apple TV, and even the old-school OTA outdoor antenna motor. The hardest part of the setup was finding the IR window on the Apple TV. A bright flashlight at an angle really helps. I love that you can even useโ€ฆ

UPDATE Six month recap: He died. Review of the first night: so far, so good. It's a bit temperamental - worked out of the box during a quick and dirty test build. Then after I did a permanent install it started working intermittently and with errors. The problem could be in the power supply. You cannot power it from the USB port in the device unless that port is left permanently enabled. (If the IR repeater isn't on when you first touch the remote, it won't turn everything on.) I've found it to
