I was very pleased with this dehydrator but when it arrived the trays were slightly misaligned and did not fit together properly and the screens were warped. I went ahead and used it because I figured it didn't matter. It does. When I'm drying herbs it's almost impossible to get everything together and fit properly. My last Nesco didn't give me these problems, but it was old. I plan to return.

I bought this device because my old one died. The other had manual knob adjustment but is otherwise identical. The shell and shelf shapes have changed as the later model appears thinner and has a poorer fit and finish. I use my old shelves because the new ones are not the same. The actual fan/heater assembly seems similar enough to say the same, but I'm hoping it doesn't overheat or burn out like my old one did. Just take a look. Out of the box 4/5 stars.

I like that it's quiet and easy to use. I've ordered extra trays so now with the time and effort involved I can cook a decent amount of food. I didn't give it a full five stars because I've only had dried apple slices so far and I don't know how it will work with other products. Easy to peel, but like I said, I've only cut apple slices so far. I read in a previous review that the trays feel a little flimsy and I agree. But they aren't broken or deformed, so far so good.

Bought this dehydrator as a gift for my husband (at his request) so he can dry lion's mane mushrooms that he has grown himself.
