I was able to use this kit to help me complete keystone connections and create new connectors for category 5e and 6 ethernet cables . I'll also used the connection checker a couple of times to make sure my runs were done correctly and also to check which lines go with which (contractors tagged some of them but somehow got those tags removed for some of them) . For the price this kit worked. I had a cable installer (lazy cable installer) split the category 5 cable to run 2 lines from cable 1. Needless to say, this limited me to T-Base 100 speeds from my gigabit router. This small, relatively inexpensive kit allowed me to clean and hammer in the top of the Cat 5 keystone jack, attach a new RJ-45 end to that TERRIBLE (and unprofessional looking) cable termination, and just test the cable before I used it connected to my switch.
