These shoes are very thin without the usual cushioning you would expect from a running shoe. I know a lot of sneakers have mesh these days, but it's all mesh. I was surprised when I opened the box. My daughter loves the sneakers but I'll be sure to choose something with more padding and protection next time I order shoes from him. I find these sneakers expensive because they only cover the foot.

My 8 year old has been wearing them for about 2 weeks and the fabric on the insole is peeling off the insole and the fabric on the toe is peeling off the toe box material. The cocking mechanism is pretty cool.

As long as New Balance makes BOA, we will buy them. 6 and 9 year olds have just lived 15 months in these shoes, everyday wear with very little visible wear. Just a replacement because they've outgrown them. So impressed with their wear and durability my husband bought a pair too. All three report that they also feel incredibly comfortable!

I usually love New Balance for my kids because they are durable. I thought they were great, but less than three months later the clamping mechanism broke and my son couldn't put the shoes on anymore. I'm so sad we wasted money. I'm going back to Nike.

I absolutely LOVE these sneakers! They're really stylish and lightweight, and the adjustable dial is our son's favorite part! They became his favorite shoes for all occasions. We'll definitely get a few more.

These are cute and different. Our grandson has autism. Closing is too difficult for him. They won't last long with repeated use.

I can't say enough about these sneakers. I wish there were alternative clasps for more styles and sizes. It's really a game changer for kids (and adults) who have trouble tying their laces due to special needs. I saw someone complain that they broke. I once had a dial fall out because my son wasn't using it properly and was able to put it back in within 2 minutes.

I bought 12 for my daughter who wears 11-11.5 and they are too tight and small. The hole in a shoe is so small that you can hardly put your foot through it. She has a normal foot width. I bought them because I love boas, I have boas on snowshoes but that's probably a factory defect.

This is our second pair of these shoes. My 6 year old daughter loves the knobs so she can tighten them herself. I washed them too, no problem.

The handle twisting the laces to tighten or loosen was very difficult to understand. When we got it right, it was a comfortable shoe. Then about a month ago my grandson twisted the button on the right shoe and it bounced off completely and now it's hanging there and can't be fixed or tightened. Expensive New Balance shoes usually have a much longer lifespan. I would not recommend buying. The base shoe still looks very good but cannot be worn due to the plastic dial.

Last year we had the same design just in a different color! I love them and the design so much! It's almost like Velcro shoes, but way cuter! Last year's pair lasted all year and even washed well, hopefully this year too!

My son has trouble tying his shoelaces. He's 10 now, so it's a bit difficult to find shoes without laces, and most of them look childish (he says). They're perfect for older kids trying to avoid traditional laces. They are very easy to put on and take off and they look really good on him. These are now his favorite shoes! I will definitely buy a size up when I grow up. Very happy with this purchase.

My child has a wide foot and they fit well. After a week at camp, they looked like yearlings. But I washed them and they are like new. Due to the light color, they quickly become dirty.

My son is in a good mood and runs all the time. He hates sitting around waiting for his shoelaces to be tied. I've tried some with velcro and it always fell apart. They never waver and endure my child's super active life. Other shoes have already fallen apart. Just push the button, turn and you're done. I will buy them again if he needs bigger shoes!
