Blackout - Curtains and curtains

Definitely not a blackout. Let in a lot of light and are pretty much useless if that's why you plan on getting them.

These are NOT blackout curtains!

I can't believe these curtains have such great reviews. I could literally hang a sheet on the ledge and opt for blackout drapes. My blinds are fully closed and there is still a lot of sunlight coming in. There's no insulation, no energy-saving backing, they're a crumpled mess, and they smell funny to boot. In my opinion it was false advertising. I bought 5 of these and will be returning them all.

I love my new curtains!

I bought these blackout curtains because the light streams into the room and onto the bed (and your face) in the early morning. I chose gray over white because I wanted to darken the room as much as possible. Gray looks good with aubergine walls. I used a hot steam iron to remove the crease marks. I am very happy with my purchase, they really work. Be sure to wrap the curtain rod if you want to keep light off the sides of the window. Some cute tiebacks would jazz it up!

Without a doubt the best blackout curtains!

I have tried many blackout curtains, or rather they claim to be blackout curtains. To my disappointment, all have failed so far. I bought these Nicetowns to try and they blacked out completely. I use them in a sliding patio door where the midday Texas sun hits. As soon as I hung them up, I could feel the difference in living room temperature. Very nice as I could now turn my thermostat up instead of down to cool the room. So happy with a product that does what it promises. Just bought another…

Notable Quality: Panels

I agree with the reviews that the underside of these curtains is not perfectly flat but is fairly flat. I have furniture in front of the floor so it doesn't really matter. We had blinds but we took them for a room that we turned into our living room. It used to be too bright to have a TV in there so I took them and moved the rooms and they are perfect for our living room/movie watching. The quality is wonderful - better than expected - holding up to our three dogs pawing at the sliding glass…

Excellent light blocking

I bought this for the child's room as she woke up at 7 or earlier because of the light in her room (she has a west window). I chose a dark color to block out the light as much as possible, but I don't think it was necessary for our room. Light beige would probably be ok since we don't struggle with super bright lights all day. Curtains look very nice. They have a kind of sheen on the fabric that makes it more comfortable. Unfortunately they already have dog hair on them. Not sure why. Haha…

These curtains do not really block most of the light

They are pleasant to the touch, well sewn, the size corresponds to the description. These are NOT blackout curtains. Check out the lower star ratings for this product that contain images and you will see many images showing light shining through the curtains. My guess is that the photos that don't show this were taken at night or in cloudy/indirect light. Note that many reviews rated 4 and above also include photos that clearly show tons of light coming through the fabric, but these are left by

Blocks of gray photons

Bought these gray curtains twice. The material is dense microfiber, soft and pleasant to the touch. I'm picky about how things look and they get a solid A. They block most of the light. I use them with an umber wrap around the cornice which prevents gaps between the edges of the curtains and the wall. A tiny fraction of the sunlight penetrates through the material, but they make the room much darker compared to my old blinds. Keep in mind that some light will come in from above no matter what…
