Watch the video review, the seller finally sent a newer model to replace the inferior one. The new model has machined notches and handles that stay in place and are of good quality.

They are easy to work with. They just seemed a bit lame for my application. Maybe I didn't read the fine print somewhere. I got around this by using two. Pliers are good for installation. I probably should have bought a larger size but that doesn't stop them from performing as you would expect. Just less than I need.

bought this rig to restore a car seat. The tool worked well and is very strong. The only issue I had was that the notches on the end of the tool for holding the rings are not very shallow, making it easy for the rings to pop out. It took some getting used to. I wouldn't recommend it for everyday use, but it was more than adequate for the occasional project. Very good for the price.

Good product, holds rings well. I tied the ends of cheese sausage shells together with mine. The improvement could be a better grip that keeps slipping off the pliers. I put some tape on the plastic handles of the pliers to get a better grip. The hands slipped from the fat of the meat and the liquid. Some sort of texture capture would be nice. The product is otherwise made according to the design.

Ab With all the good reviews I was expecting that this at least works. I finally tried them this weekend (after the return deadline) and they don't even seal the rings that come with them! The rings slip out before the clamp is closed with pliers. So I tried some LEM brand rings in size 3/8 and even they slipped out of the pliers. I had high hopes of using them to seal the cheese sausage I made and had to resort to kitchen twine to tie the casings together. These end up in the trash.

I ordered these tongs to make custom sized bungee cords for my boat cover The tongs were cheap and they actually work, sort of The plastic coating on the handles tends to almost slip off with use , so I add some glue to prevent that.I was also hoping they would bend the sharp ends of the steel staples a little more.I use a second pair of pliers to bend the sharp ends inward so they don't snag on anything get caught or cut myself once on the bungee cords.

I bought these to use in making sausages. I've used them with 1/2" rings and they kept clicking before I could tighten the ring. It took me at least 2-3 tries on each ring before I got it fully tightened. I used my friend's round nose pliers and had no problems. There must be something with the wedges on these pliers that is causing the rings to slide out all the time.
