Excellent lens in camera lenses

Bought this lens based on previous recommendations. I have to say I was concerned because I didn't know what to expect from this lens. I needed a fast telephoto lens that could be used in low light conditions where flash is not allowed. I tried it on my son's gymnastics and was very happy with his work. I still need more practice with this lens but once I understand the camera settings this lens will do the job just fine. The only thing that surprised me was its weight. It's very difficult andโ€ฆ

You don't need an extra 10mm over 70-200

Oh my god. This lens is incredibly beautiful! Often when I'm in the woods and just shooting for my own pleasure, I'll put this lens on and shoot with it all the time. My personal favorite focal length is 35mm, but this lens takes some really interesting shots if you know how to compose the shot properly. At aperture 4 there is sufficient subject-background separation and high sharpness. I probably shoot at 5.6 most of the time simply because I like a slightly larger field of view and theโ€ฆ

Great lens - SLR lenses

First of all, I am writing this review solely from the point of view of an amateur photographer. I originally wanted a 70-200mm f/2.8 for my D700 but at half the price and after reading many positive reviews I went for it and was not disappointed. The first thing that strikes you when you pick up this lens is the build quality. The lens has a metal body and looks very durable. The image quality of this lens can be described as excellent. Images are sharp even when opened up to f/2.8 and theโ€ฆ

Finally received and has already proven itself.

Much has been written about the 80-200mm f/2.8D ED AF Zoom Nikkor lens and the history of Nikon's professional zoom by those who really know it. I won't add to that, but I can talk about what this lens brings to the former (and still current) VR telephoto DX shooter, as well as my growing Pro FX kit. 24mm F1.4; 50mm f1.8; 135mm f2.0DC; and the underrated Tamron 180mm f3.5 Macro. This professional zoom takes up the space (ie size and weight) formerly occupied by the mid-range 24-70mm f2.8โ€ฆ

Oh my God. wonderful lens.

This lens doesn't come cheap unless you compare it to the Nikon 70-200mm AF-S VR2. If you are looking for a professional telephoto lens, your number one choice is the Nikon 70-200. more than twice the price, or this lens. You can also look at third-party offerings from Sigma and Tamron that roughly match this lens. When choosing this lens, I could afford two lenses: this and the Sigma 70-200 f2.8. Nikon cost about 25% more, but Sigma recently increased the price of their lens - presumably dueโ€ฆ
