The quality is top notch and I recommend the product for purchase.

I purchased this lens for the D7000 as a portrait lens, because the budget option in the face of the Nikon 50mm f / 1.8D AF (which I wrote about earlier) did not suit me at all . And as it turned out, the 50mm FR is not very convenient for me, preferably 35 mm in the face of the Nikkor AF-S 35mm f / 1.8G (which I also wrote about), so the Nikkor AF-S 50mm f / 1.4G option was not even considered. The first thing I noticed when checking in the store is the dust protection of the lens, which is…

Pros
  • - working 1.8 aperture - sharpness with open - good bokeh - fast and accurate autofocus - workmanship
Cons
  • - chromatic aberration up to f4 - heavy - price (bought for 16800)

It has some flaws but the product is usable.

The lens according to the declared characteristics is very good. Sharpness and other image quality are excellent. BUT! The lens does not focus well or does not focus at all in low light, even when illuminated by a red grid from a speedlight. It was sold due to the fact that the lens stubbornly did not focus in the photo studio. The official service did not reveal any problems.

Pros
  • Very sharp!
Cons
  • Very slow focusing, the darker the scene, the slower, in normal apartment conditions it may not focus.

Full compliance with the manufacturers assurances, high quality.

Actually, because of this lens, I decided that I needed to switch from an advanced compact (fujifilm X10) to a DSLR. I bought a D7000 carcass and this lens. Due to the price of such a set, I shot only with this bundle for about a year, I got used to the lens as if it were my own, so I may not be able to adequately assess the shortcomings. One thing's for sure - it's perfect for a leisurely artistic shoot "for the soul", shot a friend's wedding - the result is simply excellent. My copy gives…

Pros
  • 1) Working aperture 1.8! 2) Excellent color reproduction 3) Beautiful bokeh. (I can't compare with other 85mm lenses as I haven't used any of them) 4) Good sharpness starting from open
Cons
  • 1) Strong HA, but they can be easily fixed in lightroom / photoshop 2) Starting from f4 nuts appear, but not very critical, since you will not want to close the aperture more than 4. 3) Not very fast autofocus, not suitable for sports.

I am delighted, the product is really worthy.

Bought used from a photo studio. I use it in conjunction with crop (D5100), and with ff 810. complaints only on crooked hands. at f1.8, it is enough to stagger a little while pressing the shutter button, and the desired area is out of focus. Therefore, for novice users, I recommend using a tripod and remote control. back holds poorly. if you shoot against the background of software, it is fraught with a drop in contrast, and parasitic objective glare inside. with the back sun showed itself…

Pros
  • incredible detail, excellent color reproduction, nice bokeh pattern, conditional versatility.
Cons
  • they don't exist!

The product is really good, Im glad I bought it.

I have been working with this lens for more than two years, I took a huge number of pictures with it. Here are some findings on this glass: 1. Very good lens for the money. Works out 100%. If there is no money for 85 1.4, feel free to take it, you will not regret it. 2. The difference with top lenses is only in the volume of the picture. If you compare two shots visually, you will see that at 85 1.8 the picture is flatter and the bokeh is not so airy. If you do not see both photos in front of

Pros
  • A very good lens. Very sharp, starting at 1.8, good color reproduction. Autofocus is not fast, but it does not blunt, it clings well.
Cons
  • If you shoot with this lens, then all your pictures will be HA! It's very rare that this doesn't happen. In difficult lighting it is very difficult to shoot, blurs the focus, in backlight it is even more difficult to shoot. But if you can take a picture, the result is great!

I'm happy with it, the price and the quality, I recommend to buy it.

Who is the pro sitting on the canons ? What nonsense? Each brand has both strengths and weaknesses. Now I shoot a lot of reporting, 70% are Nikons. And maybe more. Polls D3s and D700. Recently I saw a guy with a promo DJ, he shoots on the D200 and does not buzz. Only those who need more video shoot for nickels. The argument that Nikon or Canon is better is Holy Var. Canon has cool glasses, Nikon has them, but they are for different purposes. There is no universality in the professional…

Pros
  • Focal
Cons
  • Probably plastic.

Excellent quality, absolutely not expected for such a price.

Decent glass! As it was correctly noted above, it’s a little expensive for a beginner, but the pros have had it for a long time :) And a small digression: here someone wrote, I quote: "People, watch TV and quickly go to the Canon camp." Very funny! So I was always right when I said that boots are bought only by advertising! And good things don't need advertising! I advise those who are thinking about buying this 85th!

Pros
  • Picture, bokeh, aperture ratio, color rendition. The main advantages of any lens! In this - they are present!
Cons
  • Lightweight. But this is not even a disadvantage, but rather a design feature. Just got used to the gravity of 80-200 :)

Best thing I have ever used, highly recommended!

I'll start by shooting them first on a crop factor camera (Nikon D300s), now on a full frame camera (Nikon D810). This lens works great on both cameras with a few caveats. On a camera with a crop factor, you will need to move noticeably farther, which is natural, and the picture will be flatter than on a full-frame camera. Perhaps everything! If you have any doubts about creating a bunch of "crop + 85" or "ff + 85", don't even think about it. What is there, what is there, the lens will help to…

Pros
  • + Quality build. The lens is very tightly assembled. + Sharp even at f/1.8, as long as it's in focus. + Contrasting and juicy picture + It will find its application both on a full-frame camera and on a camera with a smaller sensor size.
Cons
  • - Slow autofocus
