Great thermometer at a great price

This was a great thermometer:* The shaded red area on the dial makes it easy to get the perfect temperature every time. Others have mentioned that the numbers are difficult to read; I disagree, I think they are easy to read, but the more important point is that you do NOT need numbers on the dial because you just have to wait for the arrow to touch red. * The clip keeps the thermometer in place very well, and if you find the thermometer is too long for the cup, you can slide it up the clip. *…

Easy to use, even before morning coffee.

5 stars because it's a generic thermometer that does exactly what it's supposed to do. Bought and no problems at all. We used to froth milk for coffee using a standard kitchen thermometer, which always seemed to be off. I suspect a dedicated espresso thermometer just means the display will show the optimal/recommended milk temperature faster, but the reading is dated and easy to read when you're tired and haven't had your coffee yet for obvious reasons Nice, the arrow in red to get and know…

Just like your little finger.

This thermometer sucks. The main problem is how far you have to immerse yourself in the water. You need to cover at least half to get consistent results. However, if I dip further (e.g. 3/4 or more) the temperature is higher. For this to be effective you need to calibrate it to a specific liquid depth and make sure you cover that much liquid with each measurement. In addition, the dial is small and the readings are mostly inaccurate. They just spread the numbers evenly; However, if you…
