I really like this type of peeler. So handy if you're cooking something with apples. I bought this to replace my previous one which used a suction cup to hold it on the counter. I couldn't stand that with the old one, the suction was the only thing securing it to the counter so if it met any resistance it let go easily and it all fell onto the counter. Haven't heard of it but I've had one for years and it works great once you get the hang of it. Cleans with clean running water and air dries. I have been using Norpro Apple Mate 1 for almost 20 years. At the time it was difficult to use as we have 4 dwarf apple trees that produce more apples than we can use. Before I write my review on this I would like to say that I have had 2 of these apple/core/slice peelers before. I've been using them for years and I know how they work and how to make adjustments.
