There are two of these for Corers

I have an Apple Mate 2 and ordered it for my neighbors as they are in their 70's and do a lot of canning, they make applesauce and apple butter They did it the old fashioned Kind of manual peeling, coring and slicing, they saw how I used mine and their ease of use. Huge plus of this model compared to other models? It doesn't have a suction cup to hold it in place that can be removed, that clip is on the bottom and you can go to town with it. Trust me, you'll love it if you're into canned food…

Works perfectly! - Update for 2016

Great product for applesauce. I managed to peel, cut, core, simmer and boil 2 bushels of apples in 5 hours! 12/31/2015 - We've put over 1,000 pounds of apples through this machine and it's still doing amazing! I ended up removing the handle and putting it in a cordless drill to cut the prep time for an apple to 17 seconds. We don't use the kernel, it tends to leave little bits of the seeds' "husk". Instead, we only use it as a vegetable peeler. However, it still works incredibly well! I…

This thing *does* not work! Yeh!

I just bought this apple peeler and it's a piece of crap. It doesn't work as it should, keeps breaking down, and takes time to fix and set up. Currently it only peels 1/2 of an apple and the corer doesn't work at all, just rips off where it was placed and refuses to core. I have about 10 apples to process and can't wait a week for an email. I need it NOW, not in 2 weeks when my products go bad. The worst. There is no direct phone number for them (Norpro, Everett, WA). I finally got her phone…

Broke apple on 4th

Very sad to say that the saying "They don't make things the way they used to" rings very true when it comes to this product . Before the purchase, I had the same brand that had previously been passed down from my mother and grandma. Easily lasted my family for over 35 years. Unfortunately, parts have become rusty and some small parts have come loose over the years, making it unusable for me over the past few holidays. I immediately ordered the same brand, hoping to get the same quality, maybe…

I would say this is the best household peeler for the kitchen

This year I used one of these to bake over 200 cakes for my son's small business. I would say this is the best meat grinder for home cooking. Trust me, I've bought probably 8 peelers over the last few years. They wear out, but think how many apples we peel. At the end of that season we had to take pieces from two other cleaners to get one to work. (We're at the point where we need to buy an off-the-shelf vegetable peeler.) The first thing we break is the pole that attaches the device to our…
