Poor quality ordinary disc, table and pedestal grinding discs

Second try. The first wheel was not round and had an unsteady lateral runout. The second try was frankly awful with the included hub, which was loose enough for a large rat to fit between the hub and the wheel. The hole in the center of the wheel was not round, about 0.996 x 1.006 inches. The wheel width was about 0.97 inches. Made a matching socket; The wheel was then 27k transverse, about 15k radial with lapped shims. It could have been balanced, but it wasn't good out of the box. The hit on…

Very good wheel but not very fine

This is a good base stone with two minor drawbacks: 1) It was listed as very fine, albeit only 150 grit. The resulting surface when grinding turning grooves has a rather rough surface. Not at all what I would call very fine. I will likely have to purchase a different stone or hand cut the Arkansas stone to get a quality finish on the instrument. 2) The supplied mandrel bushings did not match very well. So when I used them to set a 1/2" mandrel, they sagged and didn't set the stone in a circle…

VERY SOFT - NOT SUITABLE FOR EVERYDAY LIFE

Hardness is rated from A to Z, with "A" being the weakest bond and "Z" being the strongest. A weak bond is preferred for grinding harder materials, while a stronger bond is desirable for softer materials. A typical weak bond for steel is in the "F, G, or H” range. The average hardness is in the "I, J or K" range. The seller rated this as "K" hardness (see my question/answer above). In my absolute opinion, I would classify this as hardness A or B. By pressing the grain very lightly, an…

i am a good driver for grinding and finishing materials

Despite all the reports about the imbalance, that almost put me off. I bought this wheel in the 150 grit version, have never had a wheel balanced, so was not aware of this option. The package contains detailed and clear instructions to fix everything and so balance everything to work without hesitation. It wobbled a little when you put it on for the first time. But after 10 minutes of trial and error to get it right. Everything was and is good. It's a very simple process to make this adjustment

Very unbalanced Scary Soft

I was going to use it for a while before reviewing. My main goal was to sharpen high-speed steel turning tools. The plastic hub intended for my mandrel was so loose that it fell out of the wheel when unpacking, which doesn't bode well for something like this. I installed it on my grinder and the vibrations almost shook the grinder off the table. I hooked up the grinder and tried again to adjust the fit on the mandrel and worked the stone. This is a SOFT stone. Due to the large amount of…

It installs and works well, it takes a little patience.

Item arrived double bagged in airbags and was in perfect condition. Since there are many reviews of this wheel that indicate problems with the hubs and the correct operation of the wheel, I will describe what I did to install and adjust my wheel. I cleaned the shaft and cups after removing the old wheel. accumulated slag and the like. I pulled the hub out and pressed it against the inner shell and then placed it on the wheel. I held the outer shell firmly to the wheel and tightened the nut. By…

After reading all the bad reviews I was looking for an answer and I sincerely think I found it! Craft Supplies USA sells what they call a set of 2 Raptor R3X Grinding Wheel Bushings. This is a beautifully made flange with an attached bushing that you can order to fit a 1/2" or 5/8" motor shaft. It comes in two pieces, the flange with the bushing is one piece and then there is another flange for the other side (I didn't use it, I used the original grinder inner flanges). The hub is 3/4" long but
