🔍 Nu-Calgon 4182-24 Gas Leak Detector Spray, 1qt, Blue Review

I've been using leak detectors for years but have never tried the aerosol version. It worked so well I would never use any other style, it keeps your hands clean, it offers more even coverage and best of all it blows the biggest bubbles when you find a leak.

Great product. I found 2 leaks. I recommend using a small disposable brush to apply, otherwise you lose a lot. The leak is immediately apparent. Also use a small hand mirror to look at your joints. So I found 1 leak.

A guy with air conditioners came up to me and couldn't find the leak but charged me with gas for my air conditioner. The offer to come back after the heat will follow in January or February when things slow down! :( So I took matters into my own hands and bought this product. The leak was found in less than three minutes of operation!

As others have said the spray nozzle is a direct jet and cannot spray a large area but otherwise works great. I spotted my leak in just a few minutes and didn't. I didn't use a lot of soap but spent a small amount to get it where it's needed. I would recommend this soap and maybe swap out the sprayer for an adjustable one.

A thick and highly viscous solution requires the use of a swab (Rectorseal's Better Bubble product) rather than a spray. I had to pour everything into another bottle with a wider neck and use a dab to use it properly. I wasted a lot of solution using the spray bottle that came with the product. Otherwise, the solution is no worse than Better Bubble in my opinion.

The atomizer shoots in a jet at one point, making it difficult to hit the entire joint. I was expecting it to spray evenly in multiple directions to cover an area like a showerhead or window cleaner. I didn't get any blisters, now I don't know if I didn't spray accurately enough or if the leak is somewhere else. With a single jet, you have too much in one spot and it starts dripping while neighboring areas remain dry.

Exactly what I needed. I found a leak in a fitting that eluded my efforts to locate. Simply spray onto fittings and valves. Thick so it spreads easily with a small brush in tight spots where it is difficult to spray. I covered all the joints in the suspect line with it as soon as I got it and after about five minutes I saw a tiny blister slowly form.
