This is a beautiful 100% cotton rug for the living room. Feels good on feet. It smells like a new carpet, which is gradually disappearing. I ventilate the room and ventilate it in a separate room before use. I put it on a wall to wall synthetic carpet so no need for mats. My rug is 5 feet by 8 feet. Lovely rug - looks like natural/jute but is much softer underfoot as it is cotton.
