This is a beautiful 100% cotton rug for the living room. Feels good on feet. It smells like a new carpet, which is gradually disappearing. I ventilate the room and ventilate it in a separate room before use. I put it on a wall to wall synthetic carpet so no need for mats. My rug is 5 feet by 8 feet. One review mentioned that it was washable, but I haven't tried it. Although the instructions say not to wash. However, I'm curious to see if it will shrink with washing and drying. I usually like to use natural fibers and am happy to find a durable cotton rug. This smaller mat can also serve as a yoga mat. I prefer cotton yoga mats to synthetic foam mats.
