Driftwood 1 Day Cabinet Makeover Kit by Nuvo Review

I love this product! I have used granite and stainless steel kits in the past with great results. Nuvo was no different and didn't let me down! This paint is very easy to apply, doesn't drip! and dries very quickly! It took a day to paint the entire kitchen and by the end of the day. The paint was dry and quite resistant! This set saves a lot of time and looks great.

Nuvo color has good coverage and a nice finish. The kit was great. However, the color Driftwood in my kitchen lighting drew blues and purples. It looked like periwinkle on my cabinets, so I didn't finish my kitchen cabinet painting project with Nuvo paint. I wish there was a sample available as the color doesn't always come out as expected in unusual lighting. If you have good natural light this is an amazing shade and color.

Take the time to really prep your cabinets to make sure you get the best possible result - people who have experienced crackling haven't cleaned them properly. It also needs sanding for the paint to hold up well. I've put 3 coats on the cabinet doors and 2 on the frame and it looks professional quality (and I've never done anything like this before). As long as you follow the instructions, it's very easy to get great results. Highly recommended as a cheap alternative to renovation.

LOVE LOVE LOVE that paint set. It took me 5 days but I was in no hurry. On the first day I sanded, on the second I drilled holes for the fittings, on the third washed with steel, then with Vindex and masking tape, on the fourth I painted, on the fifth fitted the fittings. What a great product! I ordered it because it had very good reviews. I moved into a house with old, faded cabinets. I've used the Krud Kutter to clean out cabinets, but haven't sanded. I wasn't sure if I would regret that decision. I mixed the paint for about 10 minutes and used the brush to paint the door grooves, then used the roller that came with it to paint the flat areas. So beautiful and easy! I never thought painting cabinets would be so fast! This was a great kit to refresh our dated kitchen. We just bought a house 6 months ago and we're not yet quite ready to invest in a brand new kitchen and this kit has certainly been a great way to freshen it up in the meantime!
