🐠 NYOS Magnesium (MG) Reefer Test Kit for Aquariums Review

I've been using water testing in my line of work and testing aquarium water for decades. This test kit is very inaccurate, I tested my water 4 times the same way and got very different readings. It's nicely packaged, has great content, but I will never buy it again.

I bought this to help combat a nasty bryopsis outbreak I had. The RedSea and Salifert kits were not available for Prime so I went with this kit. Mixing is easy, the colors are very bright, and the cost of the set is lower! Also, it works the same as the Salifert kit, so there are no new testing methods to get used to and the formula is a lot easier to remember in my opinion! Haven't compared to a Salifert kit or Red Sea yet, but I checked my standard salt mix and the magnesium levels were right

My test kit expires on 5/2019. I've been testing for the past 2 weeks and getting readings around 1100ppm. I started adding Red Sea magnesium and tested and it showed that the magnesium increased in proportion to my dosage, so I didn't think about it except on low magnesium. Then the magnesium continued to drop so I checked my reef crystal seawater mix and Nyos read that a fresh batch of the mix was around 1150ppm. I understand that I have a bad load of salt.
