The ideal tester is the best at testing, measuring and verifying

I use it to measure the PH level in my water for my African violets. So easy to use and read. The production is wonderful and very helpful if you give them a call. Excellent customer service.

Pros
  • I hold my fists
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine

Good accurate pen - test, measure and verify

I use this to ensure my pH sensor is accurate or as a quick pH reading after a tank change. It takes about 10 seconds for the pH to level off and lock into place. The readings themselves seem accurate as they are always within 0.1 pH of my sensor readings. I calibrate this monthly and the calibration process is as easy as it gets as it determines which solution is on its own in a matter of seconds. in my tank to see when it gets a specific reading.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Expensive

Works best in a substance analyzer

Updated after use: happy with the device. It's been working fine for a long time. There are no problems with the exchange. The rep said Revain wasn't the best place and my replacement came from the supply lab, I think Cole Parmer if I remember correctly. I am happy with the result of the update: I contacted MFG and they replace the device. Let's see how it goes. Doesn't read properly. Expected pH 5.4, measured 5.7. Check with the best equipment. 5.4. Recalibrate, remeasure. 5.7. Do I trust this

VERY disappointed with Test, Measure & Inspect

UPDATE I posted a comment below almost 2 weeks ago and still no one has replied to me. I feel the quality of customer service is seriously declining. This is the original review I gave. I'll be honest I love these counters but this is the second time I've had problems, yes they sent me another one. 1 time and it worked but that's not the point I ordered this because it's a reliable brand and it was/is in an emergency I need it and I still don't have it because they sent me a counter that the…

Good but older version could be a bit better

I have an older version and need a newer one for working with anthocyanins. It's a good unit and a bit more visible, but not that much. It displays pH and temperature. You will need to remove and replace the batteries to ensure it turns on. The lid is slightly better than the old one and has a spirit level for pouring out calibration liquids. Calibration on the old one was normal and easy, 4, 7, 10 pH. This one is a little more difficult. Never tells you it's done. If calibrated at pH 10 it…

According to manufacturer for 6-12 months single use

I have been using pH meters for many years and have been happy with them for the first 10 months. I was having issues with the readings and couldn't get the auto-calibration feature to work as usual, so I contacted the manufacturer, Oakton. My pH electrode turned out to be faulty, which is not surprising, they all wear out over time and can usually be replaced for $10-$30. What surprised me is that when I asked for the part number for a replacement probe, they said it was not interchangeable…

  • Free for educational purposes

Couldn't stand up to daily use. NO MANUAL CALIBRATION!

Worked great for the first 3 months. I mean really great! Fast, just what you call it. Always keep it in storage solution. Was only used to test the feed water for our tomatoes and peppers. After 3 months the automatic calibration stopped working. Was down 2 points (when it says 6.0 it was actually 6.2) was gradually moved on now it's down 0.5 and the bottom lid or "cup" you prefer is white and cracked. Autocalibration still says "Done". "It looks like it's working, but unfortunately it's not…

Great pH meter! It calibrates and reads great!

Great hydroponic pH meter! Got the "as new" purchase option and saved almost $20. According to the description, the packaging is damaged. When I received my blood glucose meter (the very next day!), the packaging was fine. but there was no hat. That confused me a little. The meter itself worked great and I couldn't be happier. If you are interested in indoor gardening, you know how important a good PH meter is. Those $11 or even $20 counters suck. They are short-lived and calibration may fail…
