I have been using this tool for over 16 years. (obviously not the same) I usually go through once every 6-12 months. As a journeyman plumber, this is one of my most used tools. They last much longer if kept clean and dry. Never get flux on it! I don't normally use brushes to clean the inner tube, but they work great if you don't have a sanding cloth handy. What I like best is that it has 1/2" and 3/4" brushes in one tool that is comfortable to hold and takes up very little space. Good deal here

I didn't know anything about plumbing but I had to learn and redo a lot of my copper pipe - a tee with PEX Shark Bite fittings. This tool was essential and worked well as I was under the house with about 16 inches of free space to crimp and cut the copper tubing to insert the PEX tee.
