For tapping into 3 in. or 4 in. Schedule 40 DWV line. Accepts incoming line inside the socket or joins with a Sch. 40 DWV fitting. For tapping into a 3-Inch or 4-Inch Sch. 40 DWV line. Saddle is solvent welded to the existing line and secured with metal V-bolts, washers and nuts provided in the kit. The tee accepts the incoming line inside the socket, or joins with a Sch. 40 DWV fitting.

Great Tapping Gasket for Plumbing Projects

The Oatey tapping gasket is perfect for all DIY plumbing projects. Based on our own experience, we found this gasket easy to install and incredibly durable. Its high-quality materials make it resistant to leaks and it creates a tight seal that prevents any dripping. The one downside is that it only comes in one size, which may not fit every project. Overall, we highly recommend this tapping gasket for any plumbing needs.

Pig iron crane for a sewage pipe.

I needed to install a second floor toilet in an 1860's frame house with a 4" cast iron sewer pipe. Square pipe none the ability to remove a section to fit a sleeveless tee. The Oatey 43796 fitted perfectly, although it took me two days with a 3" hole saw to drill through the Ci tube. The job was completed with 3 "PVC sealed connecting the toilet flange.

It's a little surprising that it costs more than the seat t-kit itself because it looks like it should cost around 50 cents.

It's just a rectangular piece 3/ foam padding, 16" thick, about 7" high, 6" wide and nothing else. The picture showing the Saddle T-Kit (at the time of writing this article) is just misleading, but at least it shows you what it contains. You need to cut a hole in this material. It's a little surprising that it costs more than the saddle t-kit itself, as it looks like it should cost around 50 cents. I haven't installed it yet, but I assume it will produce a reasonable seal.
