Dear garbage. to Sport

The product is unreliable. The connection is not secure. Easily turned off accidentally. It had to be included in the dive computer. It's a cheap USB cable that they charge close to $100 for.

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Doubtful purchase for the elderly

It does not fit all Oceanic and Aeris dive computers.

Will not fit all Oceanic and Aeris dive computers, especially the A300. It took the company an extra two weeks to ship it, so I couldn't download the dive logs and it doesn't meet the specs for download socket access. If I had had a computer this was intended for I might have given it a higher rating.

Pros
  • Beautifully packaged
Cons
  • Not sure

It doesn't work as promised. In fact, it doesn't work at all.

I received this item as a gift and am very disappointed. After installing the drivers and software for the PC and making sure everything is fine, I tried adding dives from my DC. Vain. Every time I add a dive sequence I get a "Timeout" message. Customer support is non-existent, as are instructions or software. no purchase recommendation

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • New competitors have arrived

Great addition to your Oceanic dive computer

This cable is great as it allows you to download all your dive data to a PC for further analysis, giving you information to enhance your experience. The software for downloading, managing data and viewing depth and air mixture charts works very well, it's simple, easy to use and intuitive. It is not included with the cable but can be downloaded very quickly. I would highly recommend this cable to anyone diving with Oceanic computers as it allows you to reduce your air consumption, better planโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Unbelievable price

Due to a manufacturing defect, not the supplier, it needs to be held in place to continue data transfer. Comes with its own instructions for downloading the USB driver. First, carefully read the Oceanic Software and USB Drivers FAQ, then update the Oceanic PC software to the latest version, download the USB drivers for this cable and ProPlus 2.0, and run the initialization sequence through. It then worked fine on an Intel i-7 laptop running Windows 7 Pro. This seller beat everyone else's price.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Some bugs

Expensive yes, but works well.

As mentioned in other reviews, overall it's a bit pricey. It takes a lot of time and understanding to get started. You will need to download and install DiverLog, then install the USB cable/driver and finally configure the DiverLog Add Computer application to sync/handshake with the PDC. In my case I have an Oceanic ProPlus 3 and this cable/configuration worked great. There are other alternatives (DiveNav DCbuddy) which are just as expensive but instead of a USB connection (ie PC/Laptop only)โ€ฆ

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Negative experience

5 stars for a working cable; Minus 2 stars for the price.

I can confirm this cable works with Veo 2. I can also confirm that the Oceanic drivers (available on the Oceanic website at the time of writing this article) work on Windows 8.1. The serial to serial adapter is similar to http://www.amazon.com/TRENDnet-USB-RS-232-Serial-Converter/dp/B0007T27H8 but instead of a 9 pin RS232 connector it goes to one proprietary 3-pin connector. With this in mind, it is important to note that drivers for the cable itself must be available before the dive computerโ€ฆ

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Tape
