Great retractable knife holder with one downside: you had to use felt or cork for the strips on the underside where the knife blades actually sit. This prevents the edges of the knives from twisting/bending when installing/storing the knives and needing constant sharpening depending on usage.

I like this item as can be seen from the video. I had trouble with the largest knife, but placing it all the way to the side of the drawer allowed me to close the drawer. Overall I am very happy with this product as it takes the massive block off the countertop giving you more space. Now I understand why this box was made in this shape. The packaging is reliable, the product is strong and well assembled. It protects the tips and simplifies organization. This is a great gift idea!

Works great! Fits many knives and styles. The only small issue I have is just a large knife with a very thick handle. It doesn't sit as low as the other knives in the block, but it's still sturdy enough and sits low enough to close the drawer, so no big deal. I got tired of throwing all my knives in the drawer where they moved around and became dull very quickly. I would have to sharpen my knives every two months. I have my own stones so paying for sharpening wasn't a problem, but doing it so often was annoying. I used two 6" knife blocks for my 10" kitchen drawer and my husband shortened one of them to 3 3/4" to make a 10" wide knife block . Taking helpful advice from another reviewer, I had my husband cut two crossbars at the two large knife slots so the handles of my large chef's knives rest on the block and the blades hang freely.
