We're not new to mail order but if you are new it may take a few hours or more. The instructions are wordless and not too clear. Be careful when assembling or you can easily chip off some of the trim on the drawers - this too can be fixed with furniture chalk or a little artful application of brown felt tip pen. This cabinet arrived completely disassembled in the box which was good except 1 the finish of some parts looked like someone had dropped them during packing, there were dents and scratches. 2. The bar on the front of one of the drawers holding the bottom of the drawer in place was broken and I had to glue and screw it together before I could finish the assembly. I thought I was getting a quality product for $196. But that's not the case. Yes, the wood is beautiful, heavy and polished. The box came with extra layers of tape.
