Easy to read like a machinist. Like the black color for her. Definitely durable. They are closely checked with a vernier caliper and an altimeter and are fairly accurate.

The scale is fine, but the scale starts about 1 mm (1/16 inch) from the end of the ruler. It's no good trying to align the start point if it's not flush with the end of the rule. After trying to use them I now think they are useless unless you just want a straight edge.

These rulers do not measure from the edge: the zero mark is approximately 2mm from the edge. I compared several rules and these seemed to be the most readable (and they are: they are very easy on the eyes). However, they are not suitable for precise measurements on a table saw or router table.

They are delivered in a nice felt storage box. They also have several plastic cases for each ruler to protect them or the item being measured from scratches. good conversion table on the back, which is very convenient. They definitely look and feel better than what I spent on them!

Black with white engraving makes this dial easier to read in most lighting conditions, but there are still cases where the old aluminum color works better. These rulers reduce glare that affects readability. The gradations on the cardinal scale are easier to read, but take some getting used to.

I really like this set of rulers. It is made of stainless steel and is excellent for intricate work. It's extremely thin and allows for accurate measurements, but be warned. You must use fine-tipped pens and pencils. This ruler doesn't work as well with a marker with a thicker line tip as it does with a thicker straight edge.
