The needle fell out after 3 uses. The tool is too short.

After 3 uses (on very thick ice) the head slipped off. The needle is gone. After some searching I found a needle. I don't know how to put it back on. For the price, I can't understand why the construction isn't solid steel or welded. Speaking of construction, it's too short to get under the ice. I'm 6ft 2in and use two hands to find the right angle, I'm hunched over in an uncomfortable position. I give two stars, I hope I can fix the pin more securely or try to return it.

Pros
  • Heat treated
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Great ice breaker tool - recommended for use with a pickaxe (axe)

The ice breaker is a great tool but I recommend using it with a pickaxe especially for those who have it are on the smaller side. After a snowstorm followed by days of frost, large blocks of ice and sheets of ice formed on my backyard's concrete patio. I couldn't try hard enough to break the ice with just the Ice Crusher. So I pulled out my trusty pickaxe and swung it across the ice and was able to generate a heck of a lot more potential energy with the swing motion and the heavier pickaxe…

Pros
  • Durable Polyethylene coated and D-handle
Cons
  • Not the best
