The perfect product for any user!

I’ve been using it for more than 2 years, I haven’t collected dust, it shoots perfectly, I can’ I can - the price is still horse, I would never buy for money (I got it in exchange for 75-300), so and shot at 45 / 1.8

Slim Olympus fifty dollars

25mm in Micro Four Thirds is equivalent to 50mm in full frame cameras. The Micro Four Thirds promise is to make both compact cameras and compact lenses. That's a feat for full-frame cameras, and mirrorless cameras with an APS sensor can't match it. Enter the Olympus 25mm f1.8. This is a sharp lens that delivers fast and accurate autofocus in a very compact size. If you like shooting at full aperture, you'll be pleasantly surprised at how good this lens is. If you need an all-weather solution…

Pros
  • Wide range
Cons
  • Reliability

Surprisingly fast and comfortable running lens

A 50mm lens is always the first lens I pick up when I buy a new camera because I'm a portrait photographer. It wasn't until I set 50mm to full frame that I fell even more in love with her. I recently ditched my DSLR in favor of a mirrorless one. I have among others an XT-1 with amazing 56mm f/1.2. With the XT-1, the actual field of view is 80mm, which is what I'm used to. Then I needed a backup camera and was able to buy an Olympus EM5 MKII and this 25mm lens. Wow! I shouldn't have been so…

It might be good if you can get a good specimen

I tried 3 specimens of this lens and they are all very off center so the left side of the image is very soft. Looking through images, I can see that the left side focus is much closer to the camera than the rest of the frame. I'm going to give away one of his now. If after 3 copies I don't have a working one, I can live without it. I have Olympus 12, 17, 45, 60 and 75mm lenses and zooms and this is the first problem I had. 3 specimens with the same defect indicates a serious manufacturing…

I am amazed! It was definitely worth the money!

My camera is the simplest - Olympus E-PM1. So far, 25/1.8 and previously purchased 45/1.8 allow you to solve all problems indoors, and not only. Both manufactured by Olympus. Filmed the birthday of the child of relatives in the apartment. In principle, one 25 / 1.8 would be enough. Situational subjects and group portraits work well. But, nevertheless, 45 / 1.8 is better suited for "waist" and closer portraits. The result is more interesting. Although 45 / 1.8 is quite decent. While the whale

Pros
  • The focal length turned out to be really universal. No flash required indoors during the day. Blend included. The most compact in comparison with competitors. "Drawing" is pleasant, and not only to me.
Cons
  • The hood is still needed. Filmed at Christmas in the snowy "Bethlehem cave". I received side illumination from the entrance to the cave, since I did not wear a hood.

Great product, a pleasure to use.

Reminiscent of retro, a large front lens, plastic is moderately hard, with a matte surface. EGF 50 has become my favorite glass. Not a portrait, but quite suitable for photographing acquaintances, friends, in the city and in nature, the angle limits the volume, the background, no need to crop, distortion is minimal (compared to the Sigma 19.5 mm f2.8). My second high-aperture fix, I'm not going to sell, it suits my tasks (ideas). The shot, cropping is strong, but the detailing is practically…

Pros
  • Build quality, dressed without backlash, softness of the focusing ring.
Cons
  • There are no "hooks", perfect in appearance and country of origin, Japan.

I am amazed! It was definitely worth the money!

Who needs a staff lens with a standard focal length (50mm equivalent) and a perspective that is familiar to our eyes, pay attention to this particular lens. In comparison with other competitors, it is the most balanced in terms of characteristics. The Panasonic 25/1.4 watering can is much larger, heavier, the minimum focusing distance is longer - 30cm, the focus is not so accurate. Also, its aperture ratio of 1.4 in real tests is a little darker, about 1.5 . And the Olympus is even brighter…

Pros
  • Very sharp across the entire field of the frame already from the widest aperture. Gives a contrast image with correct color. Almost instantaneous, accurate and accurate focusing. A beautiful pattern, the blur zone is very soft and "wet-oily", which is appreciated by those who understand photography. Chromatic aberrations are minimized, 99% of them simply do not exist. The special anti-reflection anti-reflection coating developed in Olympus gives impressive results when shooting in backlight or side light, halos, hares, as well as a drop in contrast are extremely rare, and even then in a small volume. The hood, as it were, is not really needed because of this, but it is included, which is also nice, it gives additional protection from impacts. The minimum focusing distance of 25 cm from the plane of the matrix is a very good indicator, you can shoot very close-ups. The lens is very compact and light, thanks to the plastic body, but very well made. The manual focus ring turns very nicely with just enough force and "viscosity" not to be too light, but not heavy either. A prime example of the m4/3 system is quality and convenience in a small package.
Cons
  • The price could have been cheaper. And so far I have not found any shortcomings.
