I was looking for something shiny for my bitch as she absolutely needs some shine. I also wanted something permanent. It sparkled for a while. However, after 8-9 months, the "white crystal jewels" lost their luster. They are matte and basically "clear crystalline plastic" and their settings are gray and matte. I love this collar! 16 inches (at the last hole) is just right for Jackie's neck, with enough room for me to slip a couple of fingers between her neck and her collar - this is a 34 lb, 9 year old Cocker Spaniel. The collar is durable leather and the rhinestones are still there. The color is VERY faded! If you prefer pastel colors then this collar is for you as the neon coloring will fade within a few months and the color will almost disappear after a year hence I would give the product 3 stars overall. I bought a 10 inch royal blue collar for my 4 lb Maltese and it fits him right at the last hole. If I buy another one, I'll buy a 12" in case it hits a few ounces. (His neck is only 6.25 inches long.)
