DIY Fix for Sure in Relays

Pool filter was in constant use. I started research after adding $150 to my electric bill. I have an aqualogic control bd but it doesn't matter as long as your specs match that relay. Leslie charged $110 for the part and pool service charged $100 for the fitting. I ordered this part, stripped it down and installed it in 10 minutes for $20. Works perfectly. At that markup we should sell all pool parts. I also ordered replacement parts for a 10 year old Polaris supply hose, swivels and end hose…

Pros
  • Electrical relay with test button to receive and control electrical signals and check operation
Cons
  • Small things

OK - - So it's 9pm and the pump is still running. It was supposed to shut down at 7:00 p.m. The LED on the control panel is off, so the contactor must not be switched on. I disconnected the control cable from the panel to check - and sure enough - the pump kept working. I disconnected the 240v section of the panel (flip the switches) and removed the contactor from that pump. I opened it up and you can see the contactor's fusible contacts glued to the corresponding contacts on the other side…

Pros
  • Insulation is UL Class B Flame Retardant
Cons
  • Gone

A simple solution that has saved me a lot of money

I have a Jandy Aqualink pool controller. My main feed pump turned on automatically but didn't turn off. I heard a relay click when I tried to turn the pump off manually. I thought I must have a bad relay and another reviewer from Revain wrote about the same problem. Inexpensive and easy to install. Just turn off all power to the box before you begin. This repair would cost me over $100 if I called the pool repair guys. In fact, this happened to my fan motor about a year ago and the mechanic…

Pros
  • Screw terminal connector with pins, top bracket assembly
Cons
  • New competitors appeared
