Cook the meat until done.

was damaged I've had one like this for many years. That's for sure - it works for me, I'm not a testing agency. Meat that has been cooked for too long becomes tough. With this device, I set the desired temperature, and when it is reached, an alarm is triggered. Easy. Someone pinched and cut the cord from my old appliance in the oven door. So be careful how you thread it through the doorway and it will work well for a long time.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!

Easy to use, best for meat

This is my second thermometer of this type. I use it every time I roast chicken - no more mysterious meat temps! Now my chicken comes out perfectly cooked and juicy every time. My only comment is that I wish the thermometer probe had a more durable wire coating. It says that using it in high oven temperatures can damage the wire. This seems counterproductive. But overall this product is very easy to use and I love that it's magnetic so I can attach it to my oven door.

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • I will add later

Lasts a long time

I can't even remember when I bought the one I currently have from Bed Bath & Beyond. It's been at least ten years, probably more like 15. After all those years of hard use, the old one sometimes needs a hammering to read in F and not C, and just the other day the alarm didn't go off when temperature was reached. I can't let that happen when I reverse fry filet mignon. I hope this new one will hold up and perform the same as the old one.

Pros
  • The best in its niche
Cons
  • There are more interesting options.

Paper clip in my kitchen

I use it when roasting meat, especially chicken and turkey. I use it so much I'm actually on my third because I've gone through the other two, I've used them so many times! If you set your alarm clock to 165 degrees you can always expect your chicken to come out perfect when roasting chicken breasts etc. And honestly, there's no easier way to roast a turkey. There's no guesswork, and you don't have to keep opening the oven door.

Pros
  • Easy to attach
Cons
  • Almost never

Cooking to the ideal final temperature

Very easy to use and accurate. I like to use an alarm clock to let me know when the food is at the right temperature, rather than setting a timer to check the temperature. Just remember that the tip of the probe does not touch the pan while baking. Also, there were some comments about reading only in Celsius. On the back, in the lower left corner, there is a very small switch that allows you to switch it to Fahrenheit. This is an essential gadget in my kitchen.

Pros
  • Quick change
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors

Thermometer with timer sensor

DO NOT USE ON THE GRILL. This is my 3rd purchase. I was able to get a new sensor once because they offered a lifetime warranty when the sensor stopped working. So take care of the paperwork and the box because the probe will stop working in about a year. But my second number didn't have a lifetime warranty phone, and I couldn't find the right number to call. I couldn't resist and bought another one. So I had the same brand for about 10 years. I've learned to save my information until exchanged.

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home
Cons
  • Protection
