Too small - my new rating

The size is incredibly inaccurate! It's terrible. My 8 year old usually wears a size 10 so I ordered a size 14 after reading it runs small and can't even wear it. The color and quality are good but this is for a 6 year old. Definitely come back.

Pros
  • Fit was good and great for my kid while we were in Florida!
Cons
  • Great shirt but runs small! Order a size larger than 2!!!!

Top style compression fit; Handwash only!

It's form fitting, more like a compression top than, say, a form fitting UnderArmour top. Some colors are denser than others. The watermelon color (made in Honduras) is only 5% spandex and has a looser feel than the green color (made in Mexico), which is 13% spandex. So if you are afraid of being crowded, opt for a watermelon color. This is a rash guard so expect it to be very snug fitting. But, probably, it will suit the owners of an athletic physique. Please note that the tag only needs to be

Pros
  • excellent
Cons
  • I ordered size 12 and 14 but they are all tiny. This applies to 12 months and 14 months. They are not for 12 year olds and 14 year olds.

Help with the size - you need to increase the size significantly

I usually buy my son a size 7. I bought this rashguard in a size 12 and it fits him perfectly. Because it is an elastic protective pad, it is designed to fit snugly. If you want it to be free, it needs to be even bigger.

Pros
  • Good product!
Cons
  • TINY

Too small for my height (ordered 14 for 10 year old)

We have a medium height 10 year old wearing an oversized t shirt and shorts. We ordered a youth size 14 thinking it would fit as we usually order a size 12 as it runs small based on reviews. When 2pm arrived we picked him up and he looked small, he could barely lift him over his head and further. As soon as he could put it on, his arms stretched out, his stomach was exposed, and he could barely breathe. I don't even know what size we could consider. I still have it as we missed the return…

Pros
  • Short sleeve design for comfort in warm weather.
Cons
  • Not true to size. Tiny. Ordered a size 12, looks like a size 8.

Strange landing..!!! in my rating

My 14 year old bought it and it fits. Maybe because he's still small, but there was too much extra tissue in his chest. But doesn't wear it often

Pros
  • Nice but very tight size is bigger
Cons
  • 6 doesn't fit a 50 pound boy. Very short.

Bad product in my review

The quality of the product was very bad. The O'Neill logo on the front was poorly done. When I stretched the shirt, the logo cracked and came off. The fabric was also very scratchy.

Pros
  • Good product! Be sure to order one size larger. He works on the small side.
Cons
  • I bought size 12 but looks like size 8

Some are very small

I have ordered two. One for each of my children. Size 12 (blue) was too small for my 8 year old. The boy is of average height, not tall at all. Not only was it small, but it was short at the waist and reached above the navel. Size 10 in the other color I ordered was larger than size 12. Neither would fit my 12 year old who is small for his age. I understand they are meant to be skin tight, but they are so small that they look like a crop top above the belly button. Also, they arrived later than

Pros
  • Great rash guard! He just doesn't work enough
Cons
  • Really very small. My son is 8 years old, he is skinny and that suits a 4 year old better.

Order a few sizes up!

I read the reviews that they run small so I ordered a size up. I did and it was still pretty snug. I don't think he should wear it more than a few times and it's already too small. It was good quality and a nice green color. I recommend this, but with the caveat that you order two sizes up. If he wasn't so small he would have gotten a higher score from me. He is 59 inches and 55 pounds

Pros
  • Rum is small!! Ordered 2 sizes up and still small.
Cons
  • I ordered for my grandson, they were tight, other brands fit better.

You have to sell doll clothes.

Went to their size chart and then ordered a size up but the item received did not fit the baby! Crazy small! Looking at other people's comments, it seems like this happens frequently. I recommend buying elsewhere.

Pros
  • hold well
Cons
  • Too small

Wrong color sent in my review

I couldn't rule out the quality of the product but the lettering is already coming off and I haven't even worn it and was sent the wrong color. I would return the product but as I needed it sooner than it would have taken time to get the correct product that I should have originally received I chose to keep it.

Pros
  • High-quality stitching guarantees a long service life
Cons
  • works very little

Ideal! my opinion about my opinion

Perfect for my kids. Nice color! They are real rashguards, not big baggy t-shirts. So when in doubt about increasing the order size, don't decrease.

Pros
  • May reduce the risk of skin cancer
Cons
  • Small

Size 10 for toddlers maybe not for a child/teen. Not nearly.

The tenth size does not fit. Neither my 10 year old nor my 8 year old fit a size ten. My slim 8 year old (4'2") only managed to get her head and one arm through. This shirt runs really small.

Pros
  • Does the job but feels tight in the armpits. Otherwise fits and looks good
Cons
  • Take one size up.

Fits and looks to me

I read that it fits the little one. My son is size 7-8. it fits perfectly. you know why. because it has to fit snugly against the skin so there is no resistance in the water. Order according to your usual size. I bought an adult according to their chart and again perfect for the skin.

Pros
  • Available in youth sizes for the perfect fit
Cons
  • Too small

Performance isn't great

This is a good rash guard. It's listed as a performance fit though, so it's meant to be a very tight fit. I ordered size 14 in blue for my little 11 year old girl and it fit her. I recommend taking 2 sizes larger than what your child usually wears. Inside is a disclaimer stating sun protection may be reduced with use and if stretched or wet. It lasted a full day at the water park, but I'm not entirely sure it will survive next summer.

Pros
  • I love my ONeill
Cons
  • Too small

size gone! in my opinion

The size is far from it. I ordered size 16, it says so on the shirt. It's pictured to the left of the size 16 shirt we already have on the right.

Pros
  • Adds a layer of style and protection to any outfit
Cons
  • Too small

Works super little! good for me

Trust the reviews that say it's very small. I ordered a size 12 for my little 13s but it fits my average size 6! It is good quality though so I left it to my younger brother.

Pros
  • My son who normally wears a size 5t wears a size 10 on this rashguard.
Cons
  • Very disappointed with the size. Bought 2 sizes - the largest, a size 16, was too small for my son who normally wears a size 8.

These are undersized! - my new rating

Excellent quality! But very small for the stated size by 2 sizes. I understand it should be tight and can stretch further, but it should also be longer. That space in the lower back needs to be closed! Size 12 is actually 7/8.

Pros
  • Provides reassurance for parents of young swimmers
Cons
  • Small

Very small and smells terrible!

My son wears a size 6. He is very small for his age. He is 8. I ordered a size 8 as per the reviews said to order a size or 2 up. However, the eight is too small! Tiny. Probably good enough for a 2 year old. Aside from the fitment issue, a strong chemical smell hit me in the face when I opened the box. That made me choke. I even had to get my son to try it on because he smelled so bad he didn't want to be near him. The quality also doesn't seem as good as advertised or as it looks in the…

Pros

Great youth wetsuit shirt with UV protection but runs small

We bought this for our 2.5 year old grandson who was with us on vacation at the beach for 2 weeks. It was the perfect UV protected wetsuit shirt that protected him from sunburn and worked great. I am so thankful to read previous reviews from previous buyers that this shirt runs very small. They were 100% right that it was very, very small. We bought a youth size 10 and it fits him perfectly. Though he's in the 95 percent tile for his age group and taller and taller than most kids his age, he's…

Pros
  • Featured Skin Cancer Foundation; UV protection UPF 50+
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

It is in order. It has to be the best.

Not sure if I like them or not. Benefits: Protects against harmful rays. nipples (I know tmi)). After a few hours it becomes uncomfortable. Works very little. It was so small I had to order a size 12 for my 8 year old. I ordered him 10 first and they were so tight they went up his stomach like a crop top. My son is THIN. He is 53 inches tall and weighs 55 pounds. He's a noodle and we still had a size issue. Even a size 12 fits but fine so not sure how their sizing chart works. My kids ask to…
