The metal frame is cheaply made

Installed a winch and used the boat same day. The winch bent the first time it was used. I would not recommend this product.

Pros
  • The best
Cons
  • Was damaged

Save your money.: External Accessories

I've had this since May this year. I used it probably 10 times, today the device fell apart. The original winch on my trailer was 1500 pounds. It lasted 17 years. Finally SHIT.

Pros
  • Good workmanship
Cons
  • Good but not great

Don't waste money!

The gears squeaked and jumped when I tried to start the boat. I couldn't go back either because it was too late. Don't repeat my mistake! Spend some money and buy what works.

Pros
  • Hard wearing surface
Cons
  • Crumpled

Heavy loads delivered quickly, ideal for the boat

As described, very heavy loads are perfect for the boat. Slightly too long strap length, had to change the fit a bit to fit our setup but that has nothing to do with the product. This is just our setup so we installed it upside down and it does the job.

Pros
  • Beautiful
Cons
  • Reliable

The seat belt material broke the first time it was used.

I bought this so I can bring the car back to the workshop while I do the restoration. The first time it was used, the hand winch was turned slightly to the side and the belt wrapped around the gearbox, causing the belt to snap immediately. In addition, the handle only rotates in a full circle without a ratchet effect. Very difficult to use.

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • No insurance

The handle ends on the starboard side of the boat

I have replaced an old winch on my boat trailer and it seems to be a very good product. It was easy to install using the hardware I had from another winch but as advertised there was no hardware to attach it to a boat trailer. The only complaint, which isn't really a complaint, is that the winch handle ends on the starboard side of the boat. It is as if the configuration were rotated 180 degrees. It wasn't a problem, I just had to drill a new hole in my boat trailer for one of the two bolts…

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • unreliable

No screws but works well

The cord doesn't wrap well and is too long for its purpose so I had to cut it. It also lacked the fasteners to bolt it to the boat trailer and the holes were placed differently than the standard winches I've used in the past, so I had to drill holes to get it working. It recently passed the usage test for the first time, but definitely not as easy to use as the slightly more expensive ribbon winch. paid for it less than a week ago. It's a little iffy, but I hope this product lasts a long time.

Pros
  • Worth the money
Cons
  • It's ok
