Optex has a nice name in the PIR

Used this as a discrete trigger for my IP camera. Optex has a good reputation in PIR and I was not disappointed. This greatly reduced the number of false alarms when recording movement in the backyard. I had to cut the foliage about 5 feet from the sensor, but after that I had almost no false positives. On a medium sensitivity walk test, it fires at 30 feet to the sides and at least 35 feet forward, day and night. Has been working without problems for several months now. Will be updated if this

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Can't remember

Works but expected more

Cons: - At first I could not connect to the POE router with a splitter on the camera in the PIR direction. I had to run a separate 12V DC cable and another for alarm data. Customization settings seem to be successful (either all or nothing). When nothing hits me on low sensitivity, but shoots too far on medium sensitivity (gets caught on the other side of the road). I have a tilt and swivel mount, so that doesn't get me in the right spot either. - The lens cap does not have a smooth shape. Itโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

LX-402 Slight disappointment in specs for Optex

Not designed for Optex alarm systems. I am an experienced alarm installer. Also, it has no temperature compensation and is a single PIRO element, which is another surprise. And the $140 Optex HX-40 has those features. Update: The device has been used in harsh outdoor conditions for 10 days without distortion. You need to completely seal the wire holes with glue, black foam will not work, a sugar ant inside will be repeatedly faked. I set Pet Lane, Low Sensitivity, Heart Rate 2, and Tilt Downโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Hands free
Cons
  • Very expensive
