I purchased these in May of last year (2021) and was very pleased with them.at first. After about 5 months, the finish started to wear off the knives that I used the most. It really detracts from the look of the knives, plus the handles are very rough and are separating from the tang. I HAVE NOT put them in the dishwasher. I love the magnetic wooden block and I am going to purchase a different set of knives to put in it.

This is a "Must Have” in your kitchen. The strong magnet holds the knives in place as well as the cutting board. Before I got this knife block, I placed my cutting board on the counter after use, and the bottom side of it always became black and molded. Now this block holds everything together and looks nice and neat in my kitchen counter, highly recommended!

The knives themselves are all OK, I have contacted the seller through Best Buy and asked them to replace the magnetic wood block.Update: They sent a replacement set but it never reached me due to an addressing error. After further correspondence, they sent a third set which I received this afternoon. I bought these as a birthday gift for my partner. He had been wanting a good but affordable knife block for the counter. I got him this and another one that’s in a traditional block. Beautiful, sturdy knife block. Had to return first one because corner of plexiglass was chipped/cracked. When I got the replacement (so fast, thank you) one of the screws was in crooked, and the screw cap won't stay on. I might glue it on or just move it to the back. I like the ease of moving the whole thing around, and although it's not a substantially smaller footprint than my previous block, it feels smaller and that's a win for me.

Really liked these knives at first. They look great visually and they are very sharp, but have issues after just 2 months of regular use. I hand wash these knives, and found that the black on the blade has started wearing off from washing and some blades have started rusting. Not worth it.

got set for great price. shield came with 1 tiny scratch, but i figured pulling them in and out will cause this anyway. All are sharp and quality made. Holder is a little front heavy with all knives in holder, but back has a lip for cutting board. With wood cutting board on back looks nice and evens the weight. Happy w/purchase.

Worthy of it's mid-range pricing. Hits my four main points for purchasing: descent quality, convenience of access, space saving footprint, and importantly safety. The acrylic shield was at first a bonus consideration, now, after having it, I don't think I'd like being without one. My knives and scissors stay in place perfectly thanks to the magnets. My primary motivation for acquiring this item was to replace a broken knife holder of a similar design. The knives are amazing and work super well! Just be careful when sliding the knives back in. The first Tim I put the knives in a cut the wood slightly and it left scratches but after the first time and doing it carefully from then out and there have been no new scratches.

This knife holder can be kept against a wall taking very little space. It can hold many normal size knifes. A magnet holds them in place and a clear thick shield keeps knives clean and your hands safe. I also like the slot in the back that holds a cutting board.

Love the concept, but it's dangerously unstable. On the front side, the base is wide enough to be stable, but on the back side it extends only about 1/4 inch. Unless you keep that side flat against a wall, it falls over every time you bump it, especially if it is loaded with a full set of heavy knives. I'm going to keep it, but I'll attach a heavier, wider base below.

I really like this knife block so far (have had it for about a month). I especially like the slot to hold a cookbook or tablet for when you’re looking at a recipe in the kitchen, but I wish the slot were wider because I can’t fit some of my thicker cookbooks in it so I took off one star.

Wood is a nice quality. Magnet is very strong! Product came defective. The bottom bolt on the left rear is screwed in at an angle (not centered). I’m not sure if this will have an effect on storage at the back later on. Didn’t catch it right away. Unfortunately, life got busy and I missed the return window. So I guess I’m stuck with it as is.
