Economical way to protect the frame from damage

Nice set of axle nuts, much better than the stock ones that came with my wheelset. One had the paint ripped off and had to be persuaded to peel off a little. The paint will peel off when you put them on as they are not powder coated.

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • Not as thick as others

The red anodizing comes off easily. Use dipped tool

They arrived as advertised and ahead of schedule. The red anodizing comes off easily. Use a dampened or taped tool to avoid removing the paint. They work for the price and for what they are.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Poor instructions

Rare and will fit Sturmey Archer front hubs.

Don't bother looking for them at your local hardware store...they aren't there. I bought a Dutch made cargo bike with Sturmey Archer hubs on all three wheels. The rear wheel had the original 13/32 Sturmey Archer axle nuts, but the front wheels were missing the axle nuts. I mistakenly thought the front axles were the same (13/32) but that wasn't the case. After ordering the wrong ones I finally looked up the front hub specs on the Sturmey Archer website and found that the front axles fit an M9 x

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Crumpled

Get Chrome and you'll be in good shape. Blacks quickly lose color.

These wheel nuts hold the wheel well. Too bad you can't look at black in isolation, because shiny chrome isn't the biggest problem. If you tighten them with a wrench at the dropouts, you'll knock their pants off. This happens on the first try so new installs look worse and worse if the paint is scraped off the nuts. My second issue (I knew there might be an issue before I bought them so I wouldn't take a star for that) is that the threads don't start at 4+mm in the nut. So if you have a short…

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Functionality
