Use silicone grease

So far so good. The first lasted over 30 years. If I get a quarter of that, I'll be more than happy. So far it works very well even in extreme heat. A 94 foot GMC Sonoma S-15 with an 89 foot Caprice 305.

Pros
  • Special rule to extend the life of the device
Cons
  • Nothing

Waste of time and money

Part arrived and installed same day. I thought I might have another problem somewhere else as it didn't start after I installed the module. I checked various points but returned to the module anyway. Another module installed and my truck started right away. It was cheaper so I'm guessing they took $25 off me. I will not buy any other module labeled OEM. waste of time and money.

Pros
  • Ready to install Straight out of the box
Cons
  • Old

I purchased the OEM 7031 ignition module and received it in early February 2016. The module failed in the last week of March 2016 and is non-refundable according to Revain. Twenty six dollars down the drain. At least Autozone and O'Reillys Auto Parts have better warranties. Be very careful who you buy from and always compare warranties with your local auto parts store.

Pros
  • Laser trimmer resistors for extremely precise electronic control
Cons
  • Good but not great

I bought this ignition module, my old module was fine. I just wanted new parts from my dealer for my Motor Marine 454. A few months later I had play through the carburetor. Tried everything, new fuel pump, spark plugs, new spark plug wires, never thought it was that new module. When I stopped the engine I accelerated to 3000 rpm and the time should have gone to 24-30 degrees BTDC. Time hasn't moved at all. I brought back my original GM ignition module which was 25 years old when time shifted…

Pros
  • The devices are tested from -40Β°C to 125Β°C to ensure that they work under all possible operating conditions.
Cons
  • No Instructions
