I was curious how this remote would work and was very happy to report that I put the batteries in, pressed the power button and turned on my TV right away.

If they say it's easy to use, they're not lying. I ordered this remote control after mine mysteriously disappeared (babies). I took it out of the box, put in new batteries and it worked right away! No programming or anything like that! If that doesn't mean easy setup, I don't know what does.

Does what it should. My original Roku remote's volume is broken, so at least I can adjust the volume. The two buttons are (now?) unusable. But it's just a remote control. My biggest gripe is the texture and smell. It feels very rough and not smooth like a real Roku remote. But it smells poisonous and for several days gave off an odor that I didn't like.

I bought it as a spare because kids keep losing their own remote control. I worked for about 8 months and then the buttons started failing. The directional keys worked first, then the other keys reported an error, as did the volume control. Next time I will get myself an official Roku remote. I think it will take a few years, but not even a year.

The original remote control for our Hisense/Roku TV recently stopped working so I decided to order one of these. It came in two days, I took it out of the box, put in a set of batteries and it worked right away. No programming. If only everything electronic was that easy! Identical to what we already had, except for the pre-programmed channel buttons, which we don't use anyway. Now we have his and her remotes until the original decides to die entirely.

The review below says the remote control stinks, is rude and doesn't look like the old one, just junk.
