This is amazing. They really work and are very easy to use. I'm a big wine lover. I use these vacuum stoppers daily and yes they preserve and prolong the freshness, flavor and texture of the wine I drink. The material and the way it is made is also very durable and well made. I have been using this item for a few months now and enjoy a glass of wine several times a week. I usually drink a bottle a week myself and have found this to be a great way to store leftover wine. This kept the wine fresh for my pinot noir and cabernet for 4-5 days. However, I think it depends on the type of wine as my Malbec went a little sour after the same number of days. Highly recommended and it's very easy to use.

I first bought a Vacu Vin about 20 years ago and eventually had to replace it when the plastic liner of the pump wore out. If I had a dollar for every bottle of wine that the old pump kept for years, I could buy a very expensive meal and a bottle of good wine to go with it. So what to do other than buy a new one. It's a slight improvement over the original: It's now a metal and plastic construction and makes a ticking sound to alert you that the wine is properly sealed.

Using this device will not increase the time before red wine goes sour. Without them, by simply reinserting the cork (which hasn't been fully corked), in my climate I get 24-48 hours before my red wine rotates. I was hoping to spend at least 3-4 days using this product. I still get 24-48 hours. I know I'm getting a good seal because I hear the "click" that the instructions say I should look for and I hear a continuous hiss every time I pop the bottle when I open it. We have been buying bottles of magnum wine for a long time and the wine becomes flavorful a day after opening and changes the taste significantly.
