I've bought several wine foil knives, none of which were particularly cheap and all very inefficient (e.g. had to press and twist very hard for a long time). . Almost no effort is required with this wonderful product - just a twist and it will cut through foil and even the cheaper plastic-like materials some winemakers use. Highly recommended.

I love jokes. Especially when it's new, it fully delivers what it promises. A half turn or even a quarter turn prepares you to pull out the cork. It will eventually dull or break, like our latest sharp knife. But that doesn't stop me from buying another one. Don't expect it to last more than a few years but this is the best foil cutter I've found. If anyone found a better one, please let us know.

I have used many wine bottle foil cutters over the past 40+ years and have found that they all dull over time. This one - though it worked great for the first 3 bottles - got boring quicker than most. For Bordeaux and Burgundy bottles with thicker foils, I have to squeeze the cutter hard and twist the bottle 5-10 times to break the foil. I cannot recommend this foil cutter.

After puncturing the foil of a fresh new bottle of Pinot Noir, uncorking and pouring through a jumble of torn foil hoping none would end up in my glass, my wife suggested that there must be a better way. This cutter keeps working great over time because it's made differently than other cutters. You have to look at his back. 4 sharp cutting discs while the other 2 are blades held by 2 "screws" each. This guy works great until you hit the 6th mission and the brittle blades come loose. Gorilla Glue can't even save her. This design is far superior to any other on Revain. Works great and comes in a very nice presentation box. I've had foil cutters that work well and some require some effort to get the job done. The Edgy works as advertised with a quarter turn thanks to 4 sharp wheels that do the cutting. If you currently use the "knife" built into many corkscrews to cut the foil, or are trying to remove the foil with the end of the corkscrew, do yourself a favor and get one.
