Bored baby bored!

Failed to load media. Material Aluminum 6061: This boring bar is perfect for this application. This is the largest boring bar that will fit on the 10" Grizzly Lathe (G7042Z). With a slight cut, no more than .010 inches, it seemed to be holding up well. Anything more than that and he had vibration issues. If they could somehow make it stiffer or a little bigger but still meet the specs, that would be great.

Pleasantly surprised

Media failed to load. Didn't have high hopes for the price I've been a locksmith for almost 30 years. It held up very well in a cold rolled steel test where the hole came out of the 1/2" drill bit to a length of 8". When I got the Finish Pass it stayed stiff and the shank is now stable. 10 Piece of mild steel and the insert showed no real wear I have video.

Good for fine blanking

$3 coupon for this review. and I have a feeling that as long as you have other cutting tools like HSS or drill bits to cut large chunks of material you will enjoy the nice finish it gives (with the right feed and speed of course). I would like this to be part of a set with other carbide cutting tools. Otherwise I'm happy. I haven't had to call customer service yet as Prime came two days later. I will not buy again because the reason I bought this one is so I can easily replace these inserts…
