Excellent product, really protects the floors

Very suitable for the arcuate spruce floor. Requires 2 layers. I used a soft brush to apply. I wore a respirator because it stinks when you put it on. Fairly dry in 1 day, completely dry in a week. It appears glossy at first, but fades to a dull shine after using an Osmo Cleaner.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • not reliable

This product lives up to the adage "you get what you pay for ".

I read about this product in an article in House Beautiful magazine many years ago. The homeowner was delighted with the product in his magnificent home. I decided to give it a try by ordering a small sample. It was easy to use and the "test area" met my expectations far better than other product test areas. I recently ordered some 2.5 liter cans and am waiting for the weather down here to cooperate so I can pick it up and apply it to my wooden floors. I chose a matte finish to match the floors

Pros
  • Well made
Cons
  • Almost never

Much nicer than lacquer

I have 110 year old pine and spruce floors and didn't want the glossy plastic finish to look like wood. This Osmo finish is easy to apply, accentuates the natural beauty of different types of wood and gives the surface a pleasant sheen. I was a bit concerned once the first coat was dry as it looked a little stained due to the different absorbency of the grains in the wood. But after the second coat, my pine and spruce were almost 100% covered, but I had to touch up a bit in places. I am veryโ€ฆ

Love Polyx - Wood Conditioners, Waxes & Oils

I am a professional contractor. When I saw that the architect had chosen this product over traditional paint, I rolled my eyes, especially when I saw the price. After the project was completed, I was very impressed. It's very expensive per gallon compared to other products, but it's way more than any other product I've used. It is very durable, stain resistant and looks great. If you try, read the instructions carefully. you are very thin Buff it with a cloth and it will look great. Also, beโ€ฆ

Nice satin finish in furnishings

Used on my 85 year old red oak floors. First I peeled off the old linoleum and scraped off the mastic which left grooves in the wood that couldn't be sanded. The floors were painted dark brown to hide mastic stains and old water stains and then covered with two coats of this hard wax oil using a special OSMO brush. The floors have been given an absolutely stunning satin finish. They glow in a way that other coatings just can't match. Wood ridges, old scratches and other marks are still presentโ€ฆ

I don't give a 5โ˜† but this product gets my rare 5โ˜†!

I have been in the woodworking business for almost 40 years and have used almost every finishing material available. We were looking for a natural finish for a kitchen cabinet renovation project we are undertaking. I work with cherry wood that I cut and milled a few years ago. We didn't want additional colors and we didn't want a polyurethane top coat. I came across the YT video for this product and was completely amazed. I have never seen a coating that was so easy to apply and so forgivingโ€ฆ

Pros
  • The best in its niche
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine

Spot repair if necessary!

My friend convinced me to use Osmo Polyx oil and I am not disappointed. I used to be a Bona Traffic fan, but I loved the spot coloring potential of the Osmo. It's more labor intensive to use, but hopefully I'll never have to sand an entire floor again. This is the process I've used since The Friend's Guide to Flooring: sanded to 120 grit, scrubbed thoroughly, rinsed with filtered water, and mopped. I used the Osmo brush to apply a thin coat and rubbed it into the fibers in 3 foot sections downโ€ฆ

Amazing product. Very easy to use. Excellent results.

Fantastic product. One of the best finishes I've ever used. A little goes a long way. You should really work with him! You can't apply it too thinly, but you can easily apply it too thickly. I've tried different methods and the best was to just get on my hands and knees and use a microfiber cloth. Only do small sections at a time. If you need to stop, just leave a feathered edge and it will blend in perfectly when you start again. I didn't like the Osmo brush. I couldn't apply it thinly enoughโ€ฆ
