Description of 🧀 Osti Original Double Wire Cheese Cutter Slicer: Stainless Steel Wires, Black - Efficiently Slice and Serve Cheese, 9.25-Inches Long

Osti’s Original Double Wire Cheese Cutter easily slices thicker or thinner slices of cheese, from semi-soft to hard cheeses, with just a flip. Made in Denmark with stainless steel wires and ABS handle; sturdy, durable, and rust resistant. Fine-gauge cutting wire slices easily without straining hands or wrists; dual wires cut thick or thin slices of cheese. To slice, hold cheese block and pull wire across with a steady firm pressure; dishwasher safe for easy cleanup.

Bad tinsel Durability

If you love cheese, this tool that these wires are for is one of the best designs. Unfortunately, the wires aren't durable and break after a few uses. To get the most out of them, I recommend reinforcing them by wrapping smaller gauge wire around the ends of the wire, ie where the ends go into the tool. That seems to have been enough for the time being. The manufacturer is doing the right thing by considering stronger targets unless they want consumers to buy more of them.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Easily crumpled

Excellent replacement wire

Perfect replacement wire for Osti cheese slicer. When I first used a wire cut for cheese, I liked the unusual idea behind it - cheese that doesn't crumble but sticks to a flat knife cuts perfectly and is great to present with a wire cut. taking a break. So grab a new one and keep creating! The swap is non-trivial (wife hates it) but I (3rd grade engineer) do it in 90 seconds so life gets going again and whining (sorry wine) isn't without cheese :)

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • No power

I'm impressed!: cheese tools

I've never seen a cut like this before, but my curiosity got the better of me. I'm so glad it happened. I use a lot of cheese and this slicer is just the ticket. It's extremely easy to use, easier than any other slicer I've had. It cuts through hard cheeses almost like butter. Cuts more evenly than other slicers I've had. One side is cut thinner and the other is thicker. If the wire starts to loosen, all you have to do is turn the top knob and it's nice and tight again. And did I mention it…

THE BEST CUT FOR CHEESE WITH HUGE WIN!

I like this food slicer. I'm 32 years old and I love Velveeta cheese. I've always had problems with rotary cutters and there's always cheese sticking to the knife! Until now! This slicer is ideal for hard and soft cheese. All you have to do is a quick rinse in the sink and it's ready for next time! No more searching for sliced cheese in the sink! Too bad I didn't find this 20 years ago. You can get thin or thick slices just by turning them over. No need to adjust the screws and try to install…

I found a pin for my favorite but

I found my beloved but unfortunately broken cheese cutter handle rattling in my appliance drawer and with the magic of Google I found out that it is a WMF professional product. I couldn't find a seller for WMF brand cables but these seemed to fit so I ordered a set. They seemed a little thinner than I remembered from the old set, but I liked putting the first wire on, got about four slices from a block of Swiss cheese, and broke the wire. One of the comments I read said that the wire shouldn't…

  • everything is fine!

It broke and cut through the soft Gouda. I think it's not very good.

I don't know what cheese this is for. Maybe those little 8-ounce blocks of soft cheddar they sell in the stores? But the ads are all like, "Design!" So who's buying this that also wants to cut junk cheese into chunks? So we have this big gouda wedge that was too soft and sticky to cut with a knife. Perfect job for wire cutters, right? nope It was too much to handle. First, as the cheese was being cut, the metal cap in the handle rotated so the wires were no longer parallel to the shaft.
