Damper holding tool

I bought this to remove a crank bolt, replace the timing belt and water pump on a 2006 Honda Pilot, and it worked perfectly

Pros
  • 1/2" square drive can be used with a ratchet or breaker
Cons
  • There are imperfections

It works as it should!

I am wondering if they can make a 12 point damper. 6 points sometimes make it difficult to get a good angle on the crankshaft pulley damper bore. But it works as soon as you put it in.

Pros
  • You can remove and install the damper to keep the engine from turning.
Cons

An indispensable tool.

If you are changing the timing belt or removing the harmonic balancer on a Honda you will need this tool. I bought an OTC model and it worked like a dream. (although I suppose other manufacturers would be just as good). That saves time. Mine came in a plain white box. You can get some with a case, but they'll cost a little more.

Pros
  • Holds the damper for removing and installing the crankshaft bolt on most Honda/Acura engines
Cons
  • Safety
