Description of Ultimate U-Joint Puller for Class 7 and 8 Trucks: OTC Tools 5190A - Heavy Duty and Effortless

Ideal tool for removing Heavy-Duty driveline U-Joints on Class 7 and 8 Trucks in conjunction with up to a 1 inch impact wrench (not included) - without the need for heat or hammering. Large diameter threaded shaft can handle U-joints that are severly seized due to corrosion and require more force to disassemble. Smooth, crisp threads allows for a lower, more consistent effort to rotate shaft; will not damage the driveshaft, yoke, bearing cups, or joints. Major tool components are heat treated for improved strength and durability, ensuring a long, productive service life. Fits Spicer driveline 1610, 1710, 1760, 1810, 1880; Spicer SPL 140, 170, and 250 'Life Series'; Meritor (Rockwell) 16N, 17N, 18N, 1710; Meritor RPL 20 and 25 'Permalube' series.

Costs money! for puller

This article is worth every penny. Have used it 20 times with no problems. Keep the thread lubricated and it will last the guy for a long time.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Big and clumsy

This saves you time!

This makes the job very easy. I just replaced the universal joints in one of my military trucks (M1081) and this thing did the job in one man. Every mechanic should have one!

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • Zero

Poor quality or not designed for all heavy truck transmissions.

The cup on the puller did not have enough lip and the legs could roll off the gimbal on a Spicer 250 series transmission. Do not roll off the gimbal. Not sure if the one I received was botched to accept an even larger drivetrain.

Pros
  • Durable Coating
Cons
  • Damaged

When used correctly, it works fantastic.

Great product. Worked as promised. When using, you need to pay attention to the orientation. I think this is where the complainers about this product fail. I removed the original hinges from 1986!

Pros
  • Ideal heavy duty U-joint removal tool for Class 7 & 8 trucks when used in combination with a 1" impact wrench (not included) - no heating or hammering
Cons
  • No reminder

Revain is back in business

One of these is required for the job. Ours are broken. One of the bosses let me see where he got ours from. Sold out and another 80.00 just for the price. Got this cheaper. Within 2 days and in excellent quality. Thank you!

Pros
  • Key components of the tool are heat treated for strength and durability for a long productive life
Cons
  • Drill Pack

Anyone working on heavy vehicles that need to be replaced.

Anyone who works on heavy trucks and needs to replace universal joints should have this. Yes, there are many different ways to do this job and the old-timers will say you're wasting your money, but when I got it to work and effortlessly blew a U-joint in a minute, I shocked them all. It was worth every penny I spent on it. And I might add that I work heavy trucks for the state so everything we have is covered in salt and heavily pitted and that removed it with no problem. I also have the OTC…
